About
Oliver Wakeman has spent much of his career navigating the same progressive rock circles his father Rick Wakeman helped define, though he has carved out a genuine space of his own. He joined Yes as keyboardist for their 40th anniversary touring cycle, starting in 2008 alongside Steve Howe, Chris Squire and Alan White, and eventually contributed to the album Fly from Here before being let go during recording. Some of his work still made the final cut, and he shared a co writing credit on one track. Beyond Yes, he has collaborated with Clive Nolan on two progressive rock concept albums, Jabberwocky and Hound of the Baskervilles, toured with Bob Catley, recorded with the Strawbs, and partnered with guitarist Gordon Giltrap on Ravens and Lullabies. He has also won the Classic Rock Society's Best Keyboard Player award three times. More recently he has been working on his album Anam Cara, with the single Miss You Now released in 2024.
