About
Also known as: Pan Pot, PanPot
Berlin duo Pan Pot, made up of Tassilo Ippenberger and Thomas Benedix, built their reputation on a strain of techno that refuses to sit still. Their 2007 debut album Pan O Rama on Anja Schneider's Mobilee label was the moment things clicked into place, with tracks like "Charly" and "Captain My Captain" winning over dancefloors by blending melodic textures with straight up techno drive. What sets them apart is the live dimension: their sets incorporate vocals and are known for reading exactly what a club or festival crowd needs. In 2014, Pan Pot stepped further into the scene's infrastructure by launching their own imprint, Second State, which became an early home for artists including Amelie Lens. Their sound pulls from techno and house while folding in experimental and IDM touches, making their output feel rooted in the underground while still hitting hard on big stages like Awakenings and Time Warp.
