Paramore built their reputation on a sound that mixes pop punk energy with genuinely sharp songwriting, and they've kept reinventing themselves ever since. The Franklin, Tennessee band broke through with Riot! in 2007, powered by singles like "Misery Business" and "Crushcrushcrush", and picked up a Best New Artist Grammy nomination along the way. Their self titled 2013 album went to number one in the US, UK, Australia and several other countries, with "Ain't It Fun" earning them their first actual Grammy win for Best Rock Song. Frontwoman Hayley Williams and guitarist Taylor York are the creative core, with drummer Zac Farro rounding out the current lineup. After Laughter in 2017 showed a deliberately different side, leaning into new wave and synth pop textures rather than the heavier sound they were known for. Their most recent album, This Is Why from 2023, pushed them further into rock territory and won the Grammy for Best Rock Album, making Paramore one of the few acts to keep collecting hardware well into their career.
