About
Sicilian singer songwriter Pippo Pollina first stepped onto a stage near Bern in 1987, and what followed was a career that stretches across three continents. Twenty five albums, more than 200 released songs, and around 5,000 concerts in roughly 20 countries tell their own story. Along the way he has collaborated with an impressive range of artists including Konstantin Wecker, Georges Moustaki, Paolo Conte, Franco Battiato, and Rebekka Bakken. At the heart of his music is the Italian song tradition, where storytelling matters as much as melody, and where joy and melancholy often sit side by side. His Quartetto Acustico brings a chamber music sensibility to that approach, with cello, clarinet, saxophone, piano, and percussion filling out the sound around his guitar and voice.
