About
Rijck is a Rotterdam rapper who goes by the nickname 'de kakker uit de ghetto', a tag that captures the tension at the heart of his music: street credibility on one side, champagne brunch energy on the other. Before he had released a single track, he had already built a substantial following on TikTok, generating real anticipation for his debut. When the music finally arrived, it delivered: his debut EP Zó Dan featured collaborations with Ronnie Flex, Bokoesam and Josylvio, and the single Helaas, made with Langa and Yssi SB, spent eleven weeks in the Dutch Top 40. Sonically, Rijck pulls uptempo beats, catchy pop samples and sharp, wide ranging lyrics into a sound that feels like it could fly apart at any moment but somehow holds together perfectly. He has also worked with Hef and several other prominent Dutch artists. Sold out headline shows and a well attended set at Noorderslag suggest his audience is growing fast, and his presence on the Dutch hip hop scene is now difficult to ignore.
