Roomer is a Berlin based trio that weaves noise, melody and memory into expansive, guitar driven compositions. The three members, Ronja Schößler, Ludwig Wandinger and Luka Aron, have been collaborators and friends for a long time, and that closeness shows in music that feels both intimate and enormous. Their sound pulls from European avant garde, folk and electronic traditions, landing somewhere between the density of shoegaze, diary style songwriting and full on sonic experimentation. Songs tend to hold opposites in tension: clarity against blur, tight structure against a willingness to let things fall apart. Their debut album Leaving It All to Chance, released on the Squama label, laid out that musical language in full, pairing emotionally direct songs with shifting textures and layered distortion. The follow up, Staircase Made of Rope, leans further into instability, built largely from improvisations and first takes, with melodies surfacing and dissolving when you least expect them. The band has played venues and festivals including the ICA in London, ESNS and The Great Escape.
