About
Few bands in the grindcore world hit as hard and as relentlessly as Rotten Sound. Founded in Vaasa, Finland in 1993, the quartet of Mika Aalto, Keijo Niinimaa, Sami Latva and Matti Raappana has spent three decades earning a reputation as one of the most intense acts on the Scandinavian death metal and grindcore scene, releasing eight studio albums along the way. Their 2004 album Exit cracked the Finnish album charts at number 22, a remarkable feat for music this brutal. They have toured relentlessly across Europe, the US and Japan, sharing stages with the likes of Morbid Angel, Napalm Death and Malevolent Creation. Signed to Relapse Records and later Season of Mist, they have never softened their sound. Recent tracks like Pacify, Exit and Burden show the band still operating at full throttle, grinding away with no signs of letting up.
