Roxeanne Hazes from Woerden has built one of the most varied careers in Dutch pop. Her debut album In Mijn Bloed, released in 2017, won an Edison Award and established her as a genuine force in Nederlandstalige pop. Her second album, De Tijd Gaat Mooie Dingen Doen, earned her another Edison nomination and cemented her standing further. Both records are known for their evocative lyrics and a certain wistfulness that runs through her work. She recorded her third album fully live with her regular band, the same group of musicians she writes with, going for a rawer and more direct sound built around the theme of heimwee, that particular Dutch feeling of longing. Beyond the music, Hazes has presented TV programmes, written two children's books, acted, and appeared in The Passion as Mary. She has a podcast with her brother and has collaborated with Herman van Veen, Bente and Jan Dulles. She has received two gold records and performed at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
