Few pop breakthroughs in recent memory have been as decisive as what Sabrina Carpenter pulled off with Short n' Sweet in 2024. The album shot to number one on the Billboard 200, produced the global smash "Espresso" and the chart topping "Please Please Please", and picked up two Grammy Awards along the way. It was a serious step up from her Hollywood Records era, where she had released four solid but modestly charted pop albums before jumping to Island Records in 2021 and finding her footing with Emails I Can't Send, home to the multi platinum "Nonsense" and "Feather". Carpenter is not just a pop act, though. She has built a parallel career in film and on stage, including a Broadway turn as Cady Heron in Mean Girls and hosting duties on Saturday Night Live. Her seventh album, Man's Best Friend, arrived in 2025 and debuted at number one, with the single "Manchild" also hitting the top spot on the Hot 100, confirming that her run at the top is no fluke.
