Sarah Jarosz plays mandolin, banjo, guitar, and octave mandolin, and her command of those instruments sits at the heart of what makes her such a compelling figure in folk and Americana. She broke through while still a teenager with her 2009 debut Song Up in Her Head, and has since built a catalog full of Grammy wins, including Best Folk Album for Undercurrent and Best Americana Album for World on the Ground. That 2020 release marked her return to solo work after years of other projects, and it showed her writing at its most confident. Along the way she co founded the progressive folk trio I'm With Her alongside Sara Watkins and Aoife O'Donovan, releasing See You Around in 2018. Her most recent album, Polaroid Lovers, arrived in 2024, continuing a run of work that keeps finding new angles on American roots music without losing its grounded, acoustic feel.
