About
Sarah Kinsley produces every note herself, and she's made that point of pride central to everything she does. The Mountain View born, alt pop artist released her debut EP The King in 2021, with the title track blowing up on TikTok and landing the project on NME's list of top debut EPs of that year. She followed it with Cypress in 2022 and Ascension in 2023, building a body of work that NME and Vevo both took seriously enough to name her one to watch alongside acts like Chappell Roan. Her sound pulls from a pretty wide pool: classical composers like Chopin and Debussy sit alongside Lorde, Fleetwood Mac, ABBA and Madonna as touchstones. That mix shows up in her music, which tends to feel carefully constructed but emotionally wide open. In 2024 she released her debut album Escaper, and more recently she put out the EP Fleeting, a five tracker featuring Paris Paloma.
