About
Delhi duo Seedhe Maut, made up of Calm (Siddhant Sharma) and Encore ABJ (Abhijay Negi), have built one of the most compelling bodies of work in Indian hip hop since linking up in the underground battle rap scene around 2015. Their debut album Bayaan landed in 2018 to serious critical praise, and they kept momentum with a string of collaborations and singles before their sophomore album Nayaab in 2022 cemented their reputation further. That record's track 'Anaadi' picked up Best Music Video at the Radio City Freedom Awards, and the duo landed on Lifted Asia's Best Emerging Artists of 2022 list. Their 2023 mixtape Lunch Break was a deliberately bigger, more mainstream swing, pulling in guests like KRSNA, Badshah, Faris Shafi and Sonnyjim, and earning a spot on Mint's ten best albums of the year. After that release, they left Azadi Records and set up their own label, DL91 Era. Since then they've dropped the two part EPs Shakti and Kshama, both inspired by poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar's work, and in 2025 put out their first compilation, DL91 FM, showcasing artists from their new label roster.
