About
Silbermond are a pop rock band from Bautzen in Saxony, and their debut album Verschwende deine Zeit set the tone for everything that followed: it went 7x gold and platinum in Germany and Austria and launched their first top five hit, "Symphonie". From there the band only grew bigger, scoring their first number one single with "Das Beste" and following it up with a second chart topper, "Irgendwas bleibt", from their third album Nichts passiert, which simultaneously hit number one in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. That run earned them the MTV Europe Music Award for Best German Act in 2009. The band's fifth album, Leichtes Gepäck, was recorded in Nashville, which gave their sound a bit of a different flavour, and it landed in the top five in both Germany and Switzerland. Their discography now stretches to seven studio albums, with Auf Auf arriving in 2023, showing they still have plenty to say. Lead singer Stefanie Kloß has also carved out a profile beyond the band, coaching on The Voice of Germany and appearing on the German music swap show Sing meinen Song.
