About
Simon Oslender is a German keyboardist from Aachen who won the WDR Jazz Award. Still in his late twenties, he plays a style rooted in jazz and funk, with an ear for restrained grooves and collective interplay rather than flashy soloing. He has released the albums All That Matters and On A Roll Live, and tours with a quartet that includes some genuinely legendary names: drummer Steve Gadd and bassist Will Lee, both with careers stretching back decades through sessions with artists like Steely Dan, Paul Simon and David Letterman's house band. Guitarist Bruno Müller rounds out the group. The music these four make together leans into simplicity and feel, the kind of playing where every note counts because nobody is trying to outshine anyone else.
