About
Sinfonia Rotterdam is an orchestra based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, led by conductor Conrad van Alphen. The ensemble takes on substantial symphonic programmes, pairing core repertoire with notable solo talent. A typical concert might move from a Romantic showpiece for flute and orchestra through a Beethoven triple concerto for violin, cello and piano, to the full dramatic sweep of a Mahler symphony. That range, from intimate lyrical passages to large scale orchestral force, gives a good sense of what the orchestra does best. Sinfonia Rotterdam regularly collaborates with other ensembles and soloists, including appearances alongside the Codarts Symphony Orchestra.
