Skee Mask is the alias Munich producer Bryan Müller uses for his most adventurous work, blending IDM, techno, breakbeat and ambient into something that resists easy categorisation. He started the project anonymously after already finding an audience as SCNTST on Boys Noize's label, deliberately keeping his identity hidden because he was fed up with press attention fixating on his age rather than the music itself. That bet paid off when Compro landed in 2018 and caught serious notice from Pitchfork and Resident Advisor, cementing him as one of the more genuinely exciting figures in European electronic music. All of his Skee Mask releases have come out on Ilian Tape, the Munich label run by the Zenker brothers, and the catalogue has grown into something substantial. Pool followed Compro in 2021, Resort arrived in 2024, and he has kept a steady stream of EPs going under the ISS series. He pulled most of his music from Spotify in early 2022, making no secret of his issues with how the platform operates.
