Sleepmakeswaves built their reputation on the kind of sprawling, dynamic post rock that hits harder live than on record, and their international following took off in an unlikely way: a fan dropped one of their tracks into a Twilight fan video on YouTube, racking up over 200,000 views before it got pulled. That accidental viral moment gave the Sydney band a global audience almost before they had a full album out. Their 2011 record...And So We Destroyed Everything was the real turning point, landing them an ARIA nomination and a spot at Belgium's dunk!festival, where they became the first Australian act to perform. Love of Cartography followed in 2014, debuting at number 31 on the ARIA Charts and picking up nods at the J Awards and AIR Awards. The current lineup of Otto Wicks Green, Tim Adderley and Alex Wilson carries the band forward, with Wilson now the sole original member.
