About
Spite House are a Canadian trio whose sound pulls together the melodic sensibility of nineties alternative rock with emo, post hardcore and indie rock. Their self titled debut, released in 2022, packs a serious punch: frontman Max Lajoie gives everything he has across just under thirty minutes, backed by a wall of sound that somehow feels bigger than three people could realistically make. The follow up, Desertion, doubles down on that intensity while actually trimming the runtime, coming in a full ten seconds shorter than the debut. Compact and relentless are the words that come to mind.
