About
Steffen Morrison is a soul singer who carries the spirit of Otis Redding and James Brown into every show, and he has spent years playing festivals and clubs with his band. His sound pulls from a wide mix of influences, with his own touches stirred in, which helps explain why his audience is so varied. He started out on the singer songwriter circuit and reached the semi final of the Grote Prijs van Nederland in 2009. Later he made a strong impression on The Voice of Holland with a live take on Donny Hathaway's A Song For You. His album Legacy leans into a quieter, more personal side of his writing. There is also an NPO documentary, The Soul of Steffen Morrison, where he tells his own life story and how music became his outlet.
