About
Steven Charlot is an Amsterdam based singer, songwriter and producer whose sound sits somewhere between alternative r&b, indie soul and neo soul. His approach is deliberately minimal, letting his refined vocals carry compositions that feel intimate yet layered. The songs tend to build small, self contained worlds where mood, colour and emotion do the heavy lifting, rooted in everyday experiences and personal reflection. He has spoken about music functioning as a form of self medication, and that honesty comes through in the work. His debut EP Society's Face pt. I captured a vulnerable chapter of his life, and he followed it with Society's Face pt. II, a release that shifts toward a clearer outlook while holding on to the emotional depth that defines his style. He has received airplay on NPO Radio 2 and was featured as an NPO Soul and Jazz tip, recognition that reflects his ability to blend subtlety with intensity.
