About
Welsh bedroom pop artist Strawberry Guy, the project of Alexander Morgan Stephens, broke through when his 2019 single "Mrs Magic" quietly exploded on TikTok. Before going solo, he spent time as the keyboardist for English indie rock outfit the Orielles, which gives his own music a sense of craft that goes beyond the typical lo fi bedroom recording. He started releasing music under the Strawberry Guy name in 2018 with the single "F Song", then followed up with his debut EP Taking My Time to Be in 2019. His first full album, Sun Outside My Window, arrived in October 2021, a warm and intimate record that suits the bedroom pop tag perfectly. More recently he revisited some fan favourites with the F Song and Mrs Magic Strings Versions EP in 2023, giving those tracks a lush new coat and showing he is happy to keep tinkering with his catalogue.
