About
Also known as: Syb, Syb van de Ploeg
Syb van der Ploeg is a Dutch singer songwriter and performer with a long track record in Dutch theatre productions, driving shows built around acts like Simon and Garfunkel, The Rolling Stones versus The Beatles, and Motel Westcoast. He is the frontman of De Kast and became the vocalist of the rock band The Scene. His solo project Wereldzangers strips things back to an intimate setting where he channels the energy and stagecraft of artists like Mick Jagger, Don Henley and Freddie Mercury. Rather than a straight tribute show, it weaves together their stories, their music and his own experiences as a frontman, with multi instrumentalist Hubert Heeringa and pianist Wiebe Kaspers alongside him. It is a deep dive into what makes a great performer tick.
