About
Also known as: Tantu, Tantubeats, Teun de Kruif
Tantu Beats, the Dutch producer behind the boards on some of the most talked about tracks in recent European pop, is probably best known outside the Netherlands for co writing and producing "Europapa", the song that sent Joost Klein to the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. But his fingerprints are all over a much wider map: he has produced for Higher Brothers, bbno$, Paulo Londra, Cosculluela, S10, Merol and Tai Verdes, among others. His beat for Italian rapper Gemitaiz ended up on an album that debuted at number one in Italy. Working closely with Joost Klein, Tantu Beats has been a driving force in the revival of gabber pop, with tracks like "Droom groot" and "Friesenjung" showing how far that chaotic, hyper Dutch sound can travel. He builds his beats under his own name too, selling them directly to artists through licensing platforms, which has been part of his operation since as far back as 2010. Based in Berlin since 2021, he keeps one foot firmly in the Netherlands and the other pointed pretty much everywhere else.
