Twin sisters Tegan and Sara Quin have been making music together since the late 1990s, building from scrappy Calgary garage recordings to a catalog that spans ten studio albums and keeps shifting shape. Their sound has moved across acoustic indie rock, pop rock, and full on synth pop without ever losing the sharp, emotionally direct songwriting that made people pay attention in the first place. The Con from 2007, co produced by Chris Walla with a guest list that included members of Death Cab for Cutie and Weezer, remains a fan favorite, while Heartthrob from 2013 pushed them to number 3 on the Billboard 200 and earned them three Juno Awards. They also contributed the earworm "Everything Is Awesome" to The Lego Movie in 2014. Their memoir High School was later adapted into a TV series for Amazon Freevee in 2022, the same year their tenth album Crybaby arrived.
