Rotterdam's The Apers have been churning out sharp, hook loaded pop punk since 1996, and if their name rings a bell it's probably because frontman Kevin Aper's sneering vocal style draws constant comparisons to Ben Weasel of Screeching Weasel. The band built their catalog across labels including Stardumb Records, Sonic Rendezvous Records, Insubordination Records, and Asian Man Records, racking up around 700 shows across Europe and the USA along the way. Their studio albums stretch from their self titled 2001 debut through to Confetti on the Floor in 2014, taking in crowd pleasing titles like Skies Are Turning Blue and Reanimate My Heart. They kept busy with splits, live records, and compilations too, and in 2023 they dropped the Surprise! EP, showing the Rotterdam trio still has plenty of fuel left in the tank.
