About
The Cooder Connection is a Dutch band built around the music and spirit of Ry Cooder, who always liked surrounding himself with different musical friends and shifting line ups. The band works in the same way. It was started by Pieter Vermeulen, who sings and plays guitar, together with Angelo Bombrini, whose virtuosity was a big part of the sound. After Bombrini's death, his sons Gino and Massimo carried on the family's musical thread. Both had played with the band before and bring their own take on what their father did. Michel Henquet plays bass. For years the group has opened the season at the Muziekcafé in Heerlen, which has become something of a yearly tradition for them.
