About
Also known as: Hempolics
The Hempolics are a London collective built around Grippa, the band's producer and sound engineer who also fronts the group. Alongside him are vocalist Nubiya Brandon, vocalist and melodica player Dandelion, drummer Ed West, guitarist Leon, and a wider circle of close friends who all contribute to the sound. Together they've developed a style that weaves reggae, dub, soul and hip hop into something that feels cohesive rather than cluttered. Lyrically they gravitate toward love, human connection and social themes, wrapping those ideas in infectious rhythms and layered harmonies that give their music a warmth you can feel.
