About
The Shivers have been quietly building a devoted following since 2001, driven almost entirely by the vision of New York City singer and songwriter Keith Zarriello. Their track "Beauty" from the 2004 album CHARADES is the kind of song that spreads by word of mouth for years: Pitchfork noted that Zarriello's voice carried a "mesmerizing eroticism", and it later became a talking point in both The Guardian and Spin. At actor Aaron Paul's wedding in 2013, guests sang it together, which tells you something about the song's hold on people. The band has cycled through many lineups over the years, with Australian keyboardist Joanne Schornikow serving as the most consistent collaborator between 2009 and 2012. Their 2011 album More, recorded entirely to tape at an analog studio outside Manchester with no computers involved, earned them a UK release on Fence Records and a BBC Radio 1 session. Their most recent album, Forever Is A Word, came out in 2015.
