Few vocal groups can claim a run quite like The Three Degrees. The Philadelphia trio topped the UK Singles Chart in 1974 with "When Will I See You Again", making them the first all female group to do so since The Supremes a decade earlier. That song hit number two in the US and sold over two million copies there alone. They were also the featured voices on MFSB's "TSOP (The Sound of Philadelphia)", which became the Soul Train theme and reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Rooted in Philly soul and disco, the group spent decades as a force in both the US and especially the UK, racking up 13 Top 50 singles there between 1974 and 1985. Their album Take Good Care Of Yourself peaked at number six on the UK Albums Chart, their best ever placing. The current lineup of Valerie Holiday, Freddi Poole, and Hazel Payne released Strategy: Our Tribute to Philadelphia in 2016, a studio album celebrating the sound that made them.
