About
The Velveteers come out of Colorado with a sound built on raw garage rock and modern indie sensibilities. Fronted by Demi Demitro, whose guitar work and vocals give the band a gritty, forceful edge, they also carry a secret weapon in their rhythm section: two drummers, whose combined thunder underpins everything with serious weight. Their second album, A Million Knives, was produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys and balances crunchy guitars and big rock anthems with melodic songwriting that keeps things from getting too rough around the edges. The band has shared stages with Smashing Pumpkins, The Black Keys and Guns N' Roses, which gives you a fair idea of the company they keep.
