About
Also known as: Maggie Pie & The Imposters, Maggie Pie & The Impostors
Few British bands have come close to matching the chart dominance Wet Wet Wet pulled off in 1994, when their cover of "Love Is All Around" sat at number one on the UK Singles Chart for fifteen consecutive weeks, selling nearly two million copies in the country alone. The Clydebank group built that moment on a solid run of blue eyed soul and pop rock that started with their debut album Popped In Souled Out in 1987, which went five times platinum in the UK and produced the breakout hit "Wishing I Was Lucky". They also topped the charts with the self penned "Goodnight Girl" and scored their first number one with a charity cover of the Beatles' "With a Little Help from My Friends". After splitting in 1997 and reforming in 2004, the band carried on with founding bassist Graeme Clark at the helm, joined by vocalist Kevin Simm from 2018 onward.
