Will Hoge is a Nashville based singer, songwriter and guitarist whose sound sits somewhere between gritty rock and americana, with a southern sensibility running through everything he does. He started out self releasing music and touring relentlessly across the American south, partly alongside former Georgia Satellites guitarist Dan Baird, before Atlantic Records came calling in 2002. The major label experience was mixed at best: his 2003 album Blackbird on a Lonely Wire went poorly promoted, and Hoge eventually walked away from the deal. He has since kept things largely on his own terms, releasing a string of albums through Rykodisc and on his own, and racking up touring credits with acts ranging from ZZ Top and Midnight Oil to Jason Isbell and Squeeze. He also wrote the CBS sitcom theme "You Make Me Happy" and landed a Country Music Association nomination. Vince Gill, a genuine fan, has guested on his records and joined him on the Grand Ole Opry stage.
