About
Also known as: Maria da Graça Xuxa Meneghel
Known as 'The Queen of Children', Xuxa built what became the largest Latin and South American children's entertainment empire, reaching around 20 million viewers daily across Brazil, Argentina, Spain and the United States at the peak of her TV career in the early 1990s. Her show Xou da Xuxa ran for over 2,000 episodes on TV Globo starting in 1986, and the album of the same name sold more than 2.6 million copies, setting a South American record at the time. The follow up albums kept breaking records too, with Xou da Xuxa 3 becoming the best selling album in Brazil ever. Her music catalog spans children's music, pop and pop rock, with total sales estimated between 30 and 50 million copies worldwide. In 2025, her label Som Livre recognized her for over 28 million copies sold in Brazil alone, alongside 10 billion streams. She also racked up more than 37 million cinema admissions across her films, with Lua de Cristal ranking among the most watched Brazilian films from 1970 to 2011.
