About
Also known as: Yendry
Yendry's route to Latin pop stardom took a few detours. She first turned up on Italian TV in the sixth season of X Factor Italia, got knocked out in the fifth episode, and still walked away with a Sony Music Italy deal. Then came Materianera, a trip hop, electronica and alternative R&B outfit where she fronted the band from 2015 to 2018, ending with the album Abyss. The real breakthrough came when she started writing in Spanish as a solo artist. Barrio and Nena, both inspired by her mother's story, caught fire on Spotify Latino playlists and led to a double deal with RCA Records and Sony Music Latin. Her ColorsxStudios performances of both songs racked up millions of views, and El Diablo, a track she wrote in English, Spanish and Italian, followed in October 2020. She later picked up nominations for Best New Artist at the MTV Millennial Awards and Best New Female Artist at Premio Lo Nuestro.
