Doornroosje in Nijmegen was founded in 1970 as a creative activities center in a squatted school building, initially serving as a gathering place for hippies. The venue became known as one of the first places in the Netherlands where cannabis was openly available. It programmed many bands, often before they achieved wider recognition.
About Jesse Hoefnagels
Jesse Hoefnagels makes electronic music that sits somewhere between alternative pop and melancholic club sounds, with personal Dutch language lyrics at its core. His two EPs, Wakker in het donker and Dichter bij de dag, form a diptych built around themes of heartbreak, self doubt and finding your way back to yourself.
