Theater De Omval

Ouddiemerlaan 104

1111 HL Diemen

Theater De Omval has been part of the cultural fabric of Diemen since 1996, when it opened in a striking blue building designed by architect Sjoerd Soeters. The bold choice of architecture made the venue immediately recognizable, and it has remained the town's primary cultural gathering place ever since. Located on the Ouddiemerlaan, it functions as a genuine community arts center rather than a single purpose space, combining film screenings and theatrical productions under the same roof as live music events. The concert programme leans heavily toward Dutch language music. Nederpop, Dutch rock and singer songwriter performances form the backbone of what gets staged here, drawing acts that range from emerging talent to well established names in the Netherlands. Artists such as Maaike Ouboter, Eric Corton, Pater Moeskroen, Sven Figee, Ruben Annink, Diederik Jekel and Edwin Winkels have all performed here, with documented shows spread across the years from 2022 through 2025.

About Leoni Jansen

Leoni Jansen spent years as one of Dutch television's most recognizable faces before walking away from it all to focus on music. Back in the eighties she hosted and presented a string of cultural and informational TV programmes, but the stage and the microphone eventually won out.
