Patronaat is one of the ten largest alternative pop music venues in the Netherlands, established in 1984 in a former gymnasium of a Catholic boys school in Haarlem. The current building, which opened in September 2005 following a major renovation, contains a main hall with capacity for 1,000, a smaller hall for 300, and a two storey café with a small stage for free concerts and DJ sets. The venue now organizes approximately 450 activities annually attracting around 135,000 visitors, programming across indie, rock, metal, jazz, electronic and other forms of pop music.
About Monolord
Monolord are a three piece doom metal outfit from Gothenburg, Sweden, and their sound is exactly what that description promises: slow, crushing riffs wrapped in a genuinely ominous atmosphere. Thomas Jäger handles vocals and guitar, Mika Häkki plays bass, and Esben Willems drives it all on drums.
