Paard is a cultural and social venue in The Hague that opened on October 21, 1972, originally named Paard van Troje. Established as a youth center by activists with support from local government and the youth project Ruimte, it was housed in a former girls' boarding school on Prinsegracht. The venue served as a meeting place for The Hague's young people, offering support and advice alongside cultural programming and community engagement through visitor councils.
About Pitou
Pitou, the stage name of Amsterdam born Pitou Nicolaes, makes the kind of intimate indie pop that earns comparisons to folk without fully belonging there. Her early releases leaned into what 3voor12 called "broken hearted folk stripped of all frills", built around just her voice and a guitar.
