Doornroosje in Nijmegen was founded in 1970 as a creative activities center in a squatted school building, initially serving as a gathering place for hippies. The venue became known as one of the first places in the Netherlands where cannabis was openly available. It programmed many bands, often before they achieved wider recognition.
About PLAYLUNCH
Melbourne's Playlunch have carved out a genuinely weird and wonderful niche with what they call "bogan funk", a sound that pairs tight, groovy instrumentation with lyrics stuffed full of hyperspecific Australian references.
