Doornroosje in Nijmegen was founded in 1970 as a creative activities center in a squatted school building, initially serving as a gathering place for hippies. The venue became known as one of the first places in the Netherlands where cannabis was openly available. It programmed many bands, often before they achieved wider recognition.
About Dear Omen
Dear Omen is a three piece gothic rock band from Amsterdam whose sound hits hard in all the right ways. Thick basslines and punishing drum rhythms sit alongside unsettling organ tones, conjuring a darkness that feels rooted in the 1980s without ever sounding like a museum piece.
