Doornroosje in Nijmegen was founded in 1970 as a creative activities center in a squatted school building, initially serving as a gathering place for hippies. The venue became known as one of the first places in the Netherlands where cannabis was openly available. It programmed many bands, often before they achieved wider recognition.
About Westside Cowboy
Westside Cowboy named themselves after an obscure piece of New York industrial history: the guys on horseback who rode slowly in front of trains to stop unsuspecting locals from getting hit. That mix of grit and oddball charm fits the Manchester four piece pretty well.
