Doornroosje in Nijmegen was founded in 1970 as a creative activities center in a squatted school building, initially serving as a gathering place for hippies. The venue became known as one of the first places in the Netherlands where cannabis was openly available. It programmed many bands, often before they achieved wider recognition.
About The Veils
Led by singer and songwriter Finn Andrews, The Veils are a British and New Zealand art rock act with a reputation for live shows that are genuinely intense. Rough Trade Records head Geoff Travis has compared Andrews to Nick Cave and David Bowie, which gives you a sense of the emotional territory the band occupies.
