Effenaar is a pop music venue in Eindhoven's city center, housed in a former linen factory that operated until 1971. The building's name derives from the machinery once used to press fabrics. After functioning as a youth center from 1971, it gradually developed into a cultural space and obtained official status as a pop venue in 1980. The current facility, completed in 2005, contains a small hall for 400 people, a larger hall for 1300, and a casual restaurant and bar.
About Temples
Temples built their reputation from the ground up in the most DIY way possible: James Bagshaw and Tom Walmsley recorded their first four tracks at home in Kettering and uploaded them to YouTube, which was enough to catch the ear of Heavenly Recordings founder Jeff Barrett.
