De Reggehof in Goor is a multifunctional cultural centre that opened in 1994 after a long road to realisation. Its origins trace back to a local initiative called "Goor in de Bocht," which had been organising activities for children and young people in a former school building called the Malberg. When that building fell into disrepair, the group began pushing for something larger and more purposeful. From the early 1980s onward, the initiative lobbied the municipality for a shared space that could bring together local clubs, music schools, and community organisations such as Nivon and Anbo. The municipality agreed to the project in 1992, and the building at De Höfte 5 was designed by architect Daan Josee of the firm Kristinsson. De Reggehof is formally structured as a private foundation, operating as a theatre, association and events centre known as Stichting 't VEC. The venue serves the broader Hof van Twente region and combines several distinct functions under one roof. It runs a professional theatre programme, houses Filmhuis Alleman as its in house cinema strand, and rents spaces to associations, schools, and other groups. This combination makes it unusually broad in its community role compared to a straightforward concert hall. On the music side, De Reggehof has welcomed a range of Dutch acts over the years. De Dijk played there in 2009, and Overijssel outfit Bökkers made return visits in 2022 and 2023. The theatre's programme has also included Anneke van Giersbergen with her Irish Road Trip show. The catalogue leans toward Dutch pop and rock, reflecting both the tastes of the region and the scale of the venue.
