Podium Terneuzen, more widely known as De Pit, is a live music venue at Korte Kerkstraat 28 in the heart of Terneuzen, a port city in the Dutch province of Zeeland. Positioned as one of the primary concert destinations in this corner of the Netherlands, the venue draws audiences from both sides of the nearby Belgian border as well as from throughout Zeeland. Its programming spans an unusually broad range of styles, from metal, punk and dark post punk through to pop, blues and jazz, which gives De Pit a character that sets it apart from more genre focused venues of comparable size. Over the years De Pit has hosted a varied roster of acts that reflects exactly that eclecticism. British rock veterans Wishbone Ash have appeared here, as have Belgian punk favourites Fleddy Melculy, crossover thrash outfit D.R.I., electronic act Buscemi, blues rockers The Bluesbones, doom act Frayle, and guitarist TIM Akkerman, among well over a hundred other performances logged in concert databases. The venue also regularly features local and regional acts alongside international touring artists, making it a platform for emerging talent as well as established names. Terneuzen itself participates in broader cultural events, including a jazz festival that places stages in both Terneuzen and Middelburg and attracts national and international artists to the region. De Pit fits into this wider scene as the city's dedicated indoor concert space, offering Zeeland a consistent programme of live music throughout the year.
