Madonna is turning the release of her new album Confessions II into a multi day event, built around an extensive collaboration with TikTok and iHeartRadio. The album, her fifteenth studio album and her first with new material since Madame X in 2019, drops on July 3 via Warner Records. The run up to that release date is packed with a series of activations that bring online and offline experiences together.

The centerpiece of the campaign is the "iHeartRadio and TikTok LIVE Premiere with Madonna," a one hour livestream airing on July 2 at 4:30 AM ET from the release party in London. Fans get a first listen to a selection of tracks from Confessions II a full day before the official release. Madonna appears alongside Bob the Drag Queen, producer and musical director Stuart Price, who also produced the original Confessions album, and her daughter Lola Leon, who features on the album track "The Test." The stream goes out live on the TikTok accounts @tiktok, @madonna and @iheartradio, and is simultaneously broadcast across more than two hundred iHeartRadio stations in the United States. Throughout the party, Stuart Price, Honey Dijon, Jodie Harsh and Horse Meat Disco handle the music. Viewers can get involved in real time through polls, custom reaction icons, a Q&A round and live callouts.

Confessions II has sixteen tracks and features collaborations with artists including Sabrina Carpenter, Feid, Martin Garrix, Lola Leon and Stromae. In April, "I Feel So Free" arrived as the first taste of the album, followed by lead single "Bring Your Love" with Carpenter, which reached the Billboard Hot 100 and climbed into the top ten of the Hot Dance/Pop Songs chart, peaking at number seven. Earlier this month, Madonna gave audiences a preview of the project at the Tribeca Festival through a screening of Confessions II: The Film, which centered on six album tracks. That film is now available on YouTube.

From July 3 to 4, TikTok and Madonna are opening two physical pop ups called "TikTok House of Confessions," one in New York and one in London. Both locations feature album inspired installations, listening moments, content setups and merchandise, including a limited TikTok vinyl edition of the album. On that same July 3, TikTok is also launching a dedicated in app experience around Confessions II, with interactive challenges, fan rewards and profile frames.

For Madonna, who has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the best selling female artist of all time and is the first female artist to surpass one billion dollars in touring revenue, this is her first major album release in six years. Her decision to reunite with Stuart Price had a clear reason behind it: she told Interview Magazine that "the world is in a very dark place and people need to dance." The majority of her catalog sits with Warner Music Group, with whom she signed a career spanning partnership in 2021. On TikTok, Madonna now has more than 5.1 million followers, and according to the platform, talk of a so called "Madonna Summer" has been going strong ever since the album announcement.

For music fans in the Netherlands, the July 2 livestream is accessible through the TikTok accounts mentioned above, with the 4:30 AM ET start time corresponding to 10:30 PM Dutch time. The collaboration between TikTok, iHeartRadio and Madonna shows how major record labels and streaming platforms are increasingly turning album launches into multi day, interactive media spectacles that go well beyond a simple drop moment.
