Few acts captured the early 90s Eurodance wave quite like 2 Brothers on the 4th Floor. The Utrecht duo of Martin and Bobby Boer kicked things off in 1990 with Can't Help Myself, which Dutch radio stations picked up and turned into an international hit. After a brief split, they came back stronger in 1993 with Never Alone and Dreams, the latter hitting number one and cracking Billboard's Hot Dance Club Songs chart in the US. Their sound shifted into happy hardcore territory around 1995 and 1996 with singles like Fly (Through the Starry Night) and Fairytales, which topped charts across Europe. Long time vocalists Des'Ray and D Rock were the faces of the group for three decades, but D Rock stepped back in late 2025 after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, with Des'Ray following in solidarity. The group pressed on, bringing in Masta and Li Ann, a former member of fellow Dutch Eurodance act Twenty 4 Seven, to carry the legacy forward.
