Both members of Adriatique are named Adrian, which is where the Zurich duo got their name. Adrian Shala and Adrian Schweizer have been making house and techno together since 2009, building a sound that leans into melodic depth and atmospheric texture rather than brute force energy. Their early releases caught the attention of Diynamic Music, the label run by DJ Solomun, and they later signed with Afterlife, the imprint founded by Tale Of Us. That second connection led to their debut album Nude, released in 2018, a record that stretched their sonic palette well beyond the club floor. Along the way they launched their own label, Siamese, giving a home to emerging artists alongside their own output. They have remixed the likes of Moby, DJ Hell, Marc Romboy and Stephan Bodzin, and in 2017 recorded an Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1. Their X event series has taken them to cities across several continents, and a 2023 performance at the Temple of Hatshepsut in Luxor, organized by Cercle, is exactly the kind of cinematic setting their music seems made for.
