About
Also known as: Ana Roxanne Recto
Ana Roxanne blends jazz, choral, electronic, and Hindustani influences into something that feels genuinely unlike anything else in ambient music. Her debut EP "~~~", initially shared only with close friends in 2015, eventually found its way to Leaving Records, which gave it a proper wide release in 2019. Pitchfork called it "restful and restorative", and The Quietus praised it as an ode to self recognition that digs into both personal and sonic depths. Her 2020 full length Because of a Flower pushed further into spacious, textural territory, weaving in water sounds and field recordings to build something immersive. The Guardian noted how the album ponders the mutability of gender, while Pitchfork framed it as a meditation on identity and self love. She also teamed up with DJ Python for the collaborative project Natural Wonder Beauty Concept, releasing a self titled LP in 2023. Her second solo album, Poem 1, followed in 2026.
