About
Also known as: Billy la Bounty, William LaBounty, ビル・ラバウンティ
Bill LaBounty has one of those careers where the songs outlast the spotlight. His track "This Night Won't Last Forever" became a top 20 pop hit in 1979 through Michael Johnson's cover, and it kept on travelling, picked up later by Sawyer Brown and others. That kind of reach is a recurring theme for the Wisconsin born, Idaho raised singer songwriter, who signed his first record deal with RCA as a teenager fronting a band called Fat Chance before eventually going solo across more than nine studio albums. Over time LaBounty leaned into Nashville, co writing number one country hits for Steve Wariner and placing songs with artists ranging from Patti LaBelle and The Temptations to Agnetha Fältskog and Peter Cetera. More than a hundred of his songs have been recorded by other artists, earning him twenty five BMI awards. His most recent studio project, Love At The End Of The World, came together after a chance encounter with Parisian musicians at the New Morning club in Paris in 2023.
